Through the interview process we are looking for a genuine commitment to becoming a primary teacher and trying to spot the potential to become an excellent teacher. We want to train people who will motivate and inspire children, who will be flexible and responsive to change and who can be good team players with a high capacity for networking. We want to train teachers who will make a significant contribution to the needs of society, in terms of issues such as social inclusion.
The interview process therefore consists of the following activities which give short listed candidates the opportunity to show us how they measure up to these aims and aspirations for the future:
Please note: The initial interview process is the same for both the PGCE and School Direct routes.
Candidates who are offered a provisional School Direct place, are then required to have a second interview with a SCITT partnership school.
